Hey everyone,
It’s fun to win, yes, but not if you’re the only contestant!!! Come on and join the Film Contest!
The theme sounded remote and difficult at first to me, but then I thought about how it was at work in my own front yard and the film came rather easily – it’s fun to try.
I’m not going to be able to make it to the screening and festivities – I’m teaching in Philly so…. If by some amazing good fortune like I have NO opponents
and I win all three prizes (!) I hereby, in absentia, donate ALL of my great winnings to Sphere College!!
Kazoos! Cymbals! Cheering!
Or is it a “must be present to win” deal? If so, I approve.
I may be disqualified on a technicality, also (music rights), at the judge’s discretion so… (is this a moral / legal issue that people have struggled with and then haven’t submitted a film because of it?) Cliffhanger!!
Ellen,
I’m hearing about a couple other entries on the way. Whether they materialize or not—well, we’ll see. It surprises me that people wouldn’t want to even put together a quick film short to win a cash prize and get a screening, particularly when it seems like a ‘gimme’.
Sorry to hear that you won’t be able to be there, but your film entry is appreciated. And no, there’s no requirement to be present to win.
Richard

When will the 2011 Film Contest be?
If we are not able to build the infrastructure sufficiently in coming weeks it seems unlikely that we will be able to run the film anytime soon. This could change if there are people who are interested in stepping up to make it work. In short, we have bigger fish to fry right now.
